E-vignette and toll can also be paid with a fuel card of Shell Bulgaria EAD

An electronic vignette can be bought with a fuel card of Shell Bulgaria EAD and, as of March 1st, a route pass can also be bought with it when purchased through the sales channels of the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA). Until now, toll payments were made by bank card or cash.
At the end of 2019, the Road Infrastructure Agency concluded a contract with Shell Bulgaria EAD, after which the company successfully underwent the procedure for achieving interoperability with the electronic toll system. The German company UTA also submitted an application for a contract under the General Terms and Conditions, and its signing is imminent. According to the General Terms and Conditions, the contract enters into force after successful demonstration of the interoperability of the offered fuel cards with the RIA electronic system and a bank guarantee submitted.
Payments with the individual fuel cards of Shell Bulgaria EAD are made through POS terminals in the regional road offices, at the sales counters at the Kalotina, Kulata, Kapitan Andreevo, Danube Bridge at Ruse and Danube Bridge 2 at Vidin border checkpoints. A fuel card can also be used at self-charging terminals.
