SHOULD I USE CYRILLIC OR LATIN LETTERS FOR THE VEHICLE REGISTRATION PLATE?

The symbols of road vehicle registration numbers can be input in both Latin and Cyrillic characters during a purchase of an electronic vignette or route card via the website, mobile application or self-charging terminal, provided that they visually fully match the symbols in the registration number. Only letters and numbers should be used when writing the number. The alphabetical characters of the registration number should be written in capital letters.

Where the registration number contains a dash, a full stop or a space, they shall not be entered. The special alphabetical symbols such as Ü, Ö, Ä, Č, Š, Ž, Ć, Đ are exception of the rule, as there should be a complete match between the symbols used in the input and the registration number of the vehicle concerned.

Symbols 0 (zero) and O (letter O) are not interchangeable. 0 (zero) should be used for the digit of the number, and an “O” for the letter.
